How many devices can be learnt into the system?
20 (HSA3000 & HSA3500).
Does the HSA3500 work with my mobile phone?
The system can be accessed from and dial out to a mobile phone via a landline.
Can the system be part set?
The HSA3500 can be ‘home’ armed, whereby the upper floor of the
property can be accessed whilst the downstairs is armed. The HSA3000
system cannot be part set.
Does the system have an entry/exit timer?
The HSA3500 system has a user adjustable entry/exit timer that can be set in
increments of 10 seconds, from 0-70 seconds. The HSA3000 system does not
have an entry/exit timer unless it is used with the remote keypad accessory.
Using a keypad gives the system a fixed entry/exit time of 20 seconds.
How long do batteries last for?
Detector batteries and the HSA3500 system siren will last for 3 years. The
siren batteries of the HSA3000 system will last for 2 years.
Does the system notify when batteries are low?
Detectors will notify of low batteries by flashing their LED. With the HSA3500
system as well as the detectors flashing, the control unit will display individual
detector low battery indications. The siren unit will notify of low batteries by
beeping several times when disarming.
What batteries are used in the system and are they readily
available?
The system uses commonly available batteries such as D, AA, AAA and
PP3. The remote control uses a 23A battery, commonly known as a ‘lighter’
battery. The help-watch is a sealed unit and the battery cannot be replaced.
The only battery that is not commonly available is the back-up battery in the
HSA3500 control unit – this is available directly from Yale. Please note that
alkaline batteries must be used as replacements.
Can extra sirens be used with the system and are dummy sirens
available?
It is possible to add extra sirens to the system. There is no limit on the
amount of additional sirens that can be used. Dummy sirens are not available.
Over what range do the devices work?
Each component will operate at up to 30 metres from the receiving unit in a
domestic installation. This should be more than enough for most installations.
What radio frequency does the system work on?
The system operates at 433.92MHz AM
(Amplitude Modulated).
Will the system inform me if an intruder is attempting to jam
radio signals?
Both systems feature jamming detection. Any attempt at blocking radio signals
will result in an alarm condition.
Is the system tamper protected?
Both systems have the ability to alarm if components are tampered with. The
tamper facility is operational even when the system is disarmed and can be
de-activated to allow battery changes.
Can the PIR’s be used in a garage/shed?
Yes, the PIR’s can be used in a garage or shed as long as it is within the
usual 30 metres.
Will the alarm work with an answer machine?
Yes, the alarm is fully compatable with answer machines – just ensure it is
set up to pick up the call after at least 3 rings.
